What We Do

BRRWMC provides solid waste management services for the municipalities. Since April 2009, a transfer station system has been in effect for waste management, including waste from curbside pickup. BRRWMC develops the transfer stations, but each transfer station is operated by the municipality where they’re located.

About The Waste

BRRWMC takes Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) from transfer stations to a landfill site near Thorhild, Alberta.

We expect to haul one or two trailers of waste a day — between 23 and 46 tonnes — from each of the transfer stations at Bonnyville and Cold Lake. About the same amount of waste is hauled each week from the five rural sites combined.
